When choosing a baby stroller, it's essential to understand its parts first.

1. Sunshade
A sunshade that protects your baby from wind and rain is a must-have for any stroller. The size of the sunshade affects the area of sun protection and its effectiveness in blocking wind.

There are also specially designed sunshades that can be fixed to the frame and have adjustable direction and height. Their advantages include controlling the direction of sunlight and better ventilation. Some sunshades also offer UV protection, which you can consider when making your selection.

Note for mothers: Sunshades are usually removable or can be lowered to the back of the stroller or placed against the seat back when not in use. However, remember that the sunshade should have a transparent window at the top so you can easily check on your baby.

2. Seat Cushion
The seat cushion is arguably the part that comes into closest contact with your baby. Its design and cut will vary depending on the size of the stroller and how it folds. Generally, strollers that can be used as a seat or recliner are more spacious and sturdy; while some lightweight umbrella strollers, due to their lightweight requirements, usually only have a single layer of fabric for support.

Another important point is that the seat cushion should not press down too deeply when carrying weight; in other words, the support should be sufficient, otherwise the baby will be uncomfortable. Additionally, to protect the baby's head, choose a soft headrest cushion.

3. Basket
A bassinet is now an essential part of any stroller. When the baby is asleep, the bassinet can be attached to the stroller for outings; it can be carried or attached to the stroller.

4. Smog Cover
A smog cover can be fitted and secured to the stroller to ensure the baby can breathe fresh air. Smog is more harmful to babies than adults, easily leading to respiratory illnesses.
